There are rumors in the market that Apple’s new generation iPhone 18 Pro series will be overhauled for camera hardware. Following the hacker attack on Tata Electronics, Apple’s iPhone assembly plant in India, the leakage of internal confidential documents seems to have confirmed this rumor.
Tata Electronics, Apple’s supply chain, was recently reported to have been hacked and more than 630GB of confidential information stolen, most of which was related to Apple products. Recently, a large amount of information related to the iPhone 18 Pro series has been leaked on the Internet, ranging from drop test videos, design drawings to component specifications. Although the authenticity cannot be completely confirmed yet, this may have become the most serious leak of unannounced new products in Apple’s history.
According to leaked documents, it is revealed that the wide-angle main lens sensor of the iPhone 18 Pro series will be upgraded from the current Sony IMX-903 to a new customized Sony IMX-905. It is speculated that the sensor size will be larger. On the other hand, various sources have long pointed out that the iPhone 18 Pro series will introduce a main lens variable aperture design for the first time, allowing users to freely adjust the amount of light.

Not only that, more details of the iPhone 18 Pro series continue to leak out, including a drop test video that is suspected to be a real machine. Although the video may be just an engineering test machine, it can still be seen that the camera module is larger and the two-color design on the back is more consistent.
In addition, the leaked information also includes close-up photos of the new cherry red color scheme that is suspected to be the final version, a front design drawing showing the further reduction of the dynamic island, and the A20 Pro chip using WMCM packaging technology, coupled with a larger VC vapor chamber, which is expected to further improve the heat dissipation performance.
However, the authenticity of all the leaked information cannot be confirmed at this stage, and it may contain some incorrect content. It will ultimately have to wait for Apple’s official release to be confirmed. But what is certain is that this supply chain leak has caused Apple to face unprecedented confidentiality challenges.
