According to foreign reports, Apple’s iPhone 18e, positioned as an entry-level model, will continue to use a 60Hz screen update frequency and will not use ProMotion technology to support automatic adaptive update frequencies up to 120Hz.
This has also become a clear gap between the current iPhone 18e and other Android phones of the same level. After all, Android phones of the same level support automatic adaptive update frequencies up to 120Hz.
ProMotion technology supports up to 120Hz and automatically adapts to the update frequency. The advantage is that the screen can display up to 120 images per second. For mobile gamers, ProMotion can also provide an excellent gaming experience through low latency and high frame rate display effects.
In fact, a Korean report earlier this year also confirmed this. The fourth-generation model launched in early 2028 will use LTPO technology, allowing the display to dynamically adjust the refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz. Apple will also launch the next generation “LTPO+” display technology, which uses oxide semiconductors to significantly reduce power consumption.
