Apple made a big move yesterday (25th) to increase the prices of many products globally, including iPad, Mac, HomePod, Apple TV 4K and Vision Pro, and the increase was quite obvious. However, this wave of price increases is probably just the first step. Judging from Apple’s latest statement, more products may join the price adjustment ranks in the future.
Apple told foreign media that with the rapid expansion of AI data centers, the market demand for memory and storage devices has skyrocketed. It has never seen component prices rise by such a large margin in such a short period of time. Apple has tried its best to absorb costs on its own in the past, but now it has reached a stage where it must start to increase the prices of some products, including this price adjustment for iPads and Macs.
Foreign media believe that Apple’s statement has quite an overtone, especially the words “starting to increase prices” and “including this price adjustment”, which all imply that this wave of price increases may be just the starting point, and there will be a second wave or even more adjustments in the future.
At present, the prices of products such as iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods and Studio Display have not yet increased, and it is not ruled out that they will follow suit in the future. If you have plans to replace your phone or purchase additional Apple products in the near future, you may wish to purchase them early to avoid spending more money later.
As for the new generation of products that will be launched in September this year, including the iPhone 18 Pro series, it is almost certain that the price will be increased. How much the final increase will be will definitely become a major focus of the autumn conference.
