According to information released by China Mobile Hong Kong, relevant information after 2G withdrawal will be applied to 5G/6G existing and future networks to further improve resource distribution and spectrum usage efficiency.
After 2G is withdrawn from the network from now on, China Mobile Hong Kong will completely terminate 2G voice calls, data transmission, and only support traditional services such as 2G/3G old SIM cards and USSD service short codes like *#130#.
For users who still use old SIM cards, China Mobile Hong Kong will send communication notifications through the SMS number #CMHKNotice. After receiving the notification, users can go to various stores in Hong Kong and Kowloon to apply for free card replacement procedures.
