According to the latest report published by Bloomberg’s authoritative reporter Mark Gurman, Apple is currently developing the second-generation iPhone Air and is expected to be officially unveiled as soon as spring 2027!
This new generation model, internally codenamed V62, will usher in key upgrades in hardware specifications. The report quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that the second-generation iPhone Air will get rid of the limitations of the single lens of the previous generation and switch to a dual rear lens configuration for the first time. In addition to the existing standard wide-angle main lens, an additional ultra-wide-angle lens will be added, greatly improving the practicality of daily shooting and the flexibility of picture composition.
In terms of appearance design, the second-generation model will basically continue the slim lines and overall aesthetics of the current version, but Apple will focus on solving the common battery life pain points of thin and light phones. The new phone is expected to provide better battery life performance. Although it has not yet been determined whether the improvement is due to increased battery capacity or power consumption optimization at the new generation chip and software level, the improvement in battery life will make this thin and light mobile phone more practical.
Performance is also the highlight of this revision. It is understood that the second-generation iPhone Air will not use a standard version of the chip, but will be directly equipped with the A20 Pro chip of the same level as the iPhone 18 Pro series, ensuring that it still has top-notch computing performance and AI processing capabilities while maintaining a slim body.
