Xiaomi is expected to launch a successor to the Mix Fold 4 later this year. This new foldable screen phone recently appeared for the first time in the Mi Code code base. Market news indicates that the new phone may be named Xiaomi Mix Fold 5, and there may even be a chance to integrate the product line and rename it Xiaomi 17 Fold. As the code was exposed, well-known whistleblower “Digital Chat Station” also shared the key specifications and predicted pricing of Xiaomi’s new generation folding screen phone on Weibo.
According to the latest leaked information, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 prototype will be equipped with a 7.5 to 7.6-inch flexible foldable inner screen, and will introduce a new “seamless crease” technology to further improve the visual flatness when the screen is unfolded. In terms of battery life, the new machine is expected to have a built-in large battery with a capacity of approximately 6,000mAh and support wireless charging to meet the daily power consumption needs of the large screen. It is worth noting that Xiaomi is reportedly developing its own Xring processor chip for this device, which is expected to bring specific computing and power consumption optimization to folding screen devices.
In terms of photography and body protection specifications, the news mentioned that this new folding screen phone will be equipped with a 200-megapixel main lens to provide high-resolution shooting performance. The fuselage will also have comprehensive waterproof certification, and will continue to use a side-mounted fingerprint unlocking solution, taking into account ease of operation and structural stability of the fuselage. In terms of pricing, it is predicted that the price of this new generation folding screen flagship will be approximately RMB 10,000. Specific launch information is yet to be further announced by the manufacturer.
