Which mobile phone is the most popular among consumers around the world? Market research agency Counterpoint announced the ranking of the top 5 best-selling mobile phones in the world’s eight major mobile phone markets in March 2026. The results showed that Apple’s iPhone 17 series became the biggest winner.
iPhone 17 series swept
This ranking covers the United States, China, India, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, South Korea and Japan. Judging from the results, except for South Korea, the championship in other markets is almost all taken by the iPhone 17 series. Among them, the standard iPhone 17 is the most popular, taking the first place in 6 markets; only China is slightly different, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max taking the championship.
The standard version of iPhone 17 can win in multiple markets, which also reflects its CP value advantage, taking into account performance, functions and price, showing wider appeal.
S26 Ultra South Korea Home Advantage
Samsung, on the other hand, showed a strong home field advantage in South Korea. S26 Ultra ranks first with a market share of 43%, and the standard version S26 also ranks second, showing that Samsung’s flagship mobile phone still has high appeal in its own market.
Google Pixel is the only one on the list in Japan
