Foreign media pointed out that Samsung has added a new feature to “improve fingerprint recognition accuracy” in One UI 8.5. This feature first appeared in the S26 series. It mainly allows users to re-enhance the logged-in fingerprint data to further improve the unlocking speed and recognition success rate.
Now, Samsung has also begun to transfer this feature to older models; surprisingly, the first one to receive the upgrade is not the S25 Ultra, but the relatively affordable S25 FE. According to netizens, this new feature has appeared on their S25 FE after updating to One UI 8.5 and the May security update.
The biggest feature of “Improving Fingerprint Recognition Accuracy” is that users can rescan their already logged-in fingerprints up to 10 times. In this way, even if your fingers are not clean enough, slightly moist, or the unlocking angle is different, the recognition success rate can be improved, making the unlocking experience faster and more stable.
In fact, in the past, many Samsung users often used the method of “repeatedly logging in with the same finger” in order to improve the recognition rate, thereby improving the success rate of fingerprint unlocking. Now with the new function, this somewhat troublesome home-made steelmaking practice is no longer needed.
Actual testing by foreign media also pointed out that among the current S25 series, only the S25 FE can use this function normally, and other models have not been launched yet.
