The time for Samsung to release a new generation of Zhemang mobile phones is getting closer and closer. Recently, overseas media have leaked the latest news about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. It is reported that the manufacturer plans to launch two book-style discounted mobile phones at a press conference in July this year, namely the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the new derivative model Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide. The latest exposure information mainly focuses on the configuration of the back lens. Among them, the Z Fold 8 Wide is confirmed to use dark green as the main iconic color, and adjustments are made to the layout of the back camera module, switching to a dual-lens design to differentiate the product line.
In terms of photography specifications, news indicates that the dual camera combination on the back of the SAMSUNG Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide consists of a wide-angle main lens with an F1.8 aperture and an ultra-wide-angle lens with an F1.9 aperture. Relevant information shows that both sensors are 50 million pixels, and are likely to support both autofocus and 8K 30fps video recording. As for selfies, the phone’s outer screen and foldable inner screen are each expected to be equipped with a 10-megapixel front-facing lens. Users with higher image requirements can also use the main lens on the back with an external screen preview to take high-quality selfies. In contrast, the regular version of Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to maintain a three-lens configuration, retaining an independent telephoto lens to handle telephoto needs.
In terms of core hardware performance, it is expected that the two new Galaxy Z Fold 8 series machines will be equipped with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform and provide at least 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM storage space to start. In terms of battery life, the standard version of Z Fold 8 is expected to have a built-in 5000mAh battery, while the Z Fold 8 Wide may be equipped with a slightly smaller 4800mAh battery. Market analysis points out that since the Z Fold 8 Wide uses a dual-lens design and has a slightly reduced battery capacity, its product positioning and final price are expected to be lower than the standard version, providing an additional option for users with limited budgets who want to experience a large-screen foldable phone. However, the exact launch information and price have yet to be further announced by Samsung officials.
