Various types of scams are becoming more and more rampant, such as phishing text messages, fraudulent links, etc., which has also made many people pay more attention to the security of their mobile phones. A latest report conducts safety tests on the six major mobile phone brands on the market, which may serve as a reference for you to change your phone in the future.
Omdia, a market research organization, recently released a “2025 Mobile Device Security Rating Report”, which tested the security functions of many mobile phones on the market. The results showed that Google Pixel mobile phones have been rated as the “most secure mobile phones” for five consecutive years.
6 mobile phone models evaluated on 12 key indicators
Participating mobile phones include Google Pixel 10 Pro, Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max, Samsung S25, Motorola Edge 60 Pro, OnePlus 13, and Xiaomi 15. It is worth noting that since the report was tested at the end of 2025, some brands of mobile phones are not the latest models currently on the market.
The report is based on 12 indicators, including security updates, network security, anti-malware protection, identity protection, anti-fraud and anti-phishing protection, hardware security, file and photo protection, secure backup, security awareness and risk remediation, lost device protection, physical access control and parental controls.

Google is first, Samsung and Motorola are tied for second
Data shows that Google Pixel 10 Pro scored full marks in almost every category. The only category that did not reach full scores was “anti-fraud and anti-phishing protection.” However, in this category, none of the phones evaluated received full marks, which means that all current mobile phones have certain risks when facing customized phishing content sent by unknown senders via SMS or email.
In terms of overall ranking, Google Pixel 10 Pro took first place; Samsung S25 and Motorola Edge 60 Pro tied for second place. Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max belongs to the lower class, ranking 5th; Xiaomi 15 is at the bottom with the lowest score.
Apple ranks at the bottom of the class
The biggest weakness of Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max is also “anti-fraud and anti-phishing protection”, with scores far lower than those of Google Pixel 10 Pro and Samsung S25. This means that Apple’s active detection and warning functions such as fraudulent text messages, suspicious calls and phishing emails are considered to be less active than the Android camp.
It is worth noting that this report also reflects that mobile phone security is not necessarily directly related to flagship and mid-range positioning. What is more critical is the brand’s own investment in security features and update policies.
