After five years away from the children’s smartwatch market, Huawei officially announced the launch of the new Watch Kids X1 series. This series is specially designed to meet the needs of children and parents. It features an innovative detachable watch body design, making it more convenient for children to wear and operate in daily life. The Watch Kids X1 series released this time offers two models: standard version and Pro version!
In terms of appearance design, both models use 1.82-inch AMOLED touch screens (480 x 408). The standard version has a flippable and 360-degree rotating body design, allowing users to adjust to a suitable viewing angle; while the Pro version further combines detachable and rotating functions.
In terms of color matching, the standard version is available in blue and pink, and the body weighs 70g; the Pro version is available in black and light purple, and the weight increases slightly to 72g. Both have the same body dimensions of 47.4 x 41.1 x 13.4mm, and are equipped with physical main buttons for easy operation. In terms of hardware specifications, the standard version has built-in 2GB RAM and 32GB storage space, while the Pro version increases the storage space to 64GB.
For video calling and shooting needs, HUAWEI Watch Kids X1 Pro is equipped with a 5-megapixel front lens and a 13-megapixel main lens, which are enough for daily selfies or group photos. Both models also introduce a 110-degree ultra-wide-angle front lens to ensure a wider picture can be accommodated during video calls. The watch has multiple built-in shooting functions, including supporting two-second, five-second and ten-second timer shooting modes, and provides 14 filters and hundreds of fun stickers for children to create freely. In addition, the watch also has AI noise reduction video call function to ensure clear call quality.
As a children’s smart watch, safety and positioning functions are the main focus of parents. The Watch Kids X1 series introduces a five-fold precise positioning system that integrates dual-band satellites, base stations, dual-band Wi-Fi, sensor assistance and SOS-assisted positioning technology. The system supports outdoor, indoor and second-level precise positioning. With the HUAWEI FamCare app, parents can monitor their children’s activity status in real time around the clock, set safe areas and use the SOS emergency call function to provide comprehensive safety protection for children.
In terms of communication and battery life, this series supports 2G, 3G and 4G networks to ensure the stability of voice calls, MeeTime video calls and photo transmission. The system also incorporates simple social functions. Children can join friends by just touching each other’s watches or shaking hands. The watch also has parental control mode, exclusive health assistant, and IPX8/IPX9 level waterproof specifications. The built-in 850mAh battery supports fast charging technology and can replenish 50% of the power in just 20 minutes, which is enough to meet the daily needs of children.
