After nearly two years of silence, recent news from the supply chain and code base shows that Xiaomi’s new folding phone, codenamed “lhasa”, has officially appeared. This flagship model, expected to be named Mix Fold 5, has a great chance of meeting consumers this summer.
According to information disclosed in the Mi Code database, the internal number of this device with model number 2608BPX34C is set as Q18. According to Xiaomi’s past practice of assigning “18” to the folding series, it can basically determine its status as an orthodox sequel. However, there are also rumors in the industry that in order to integrate the brand naming system, the manufacturer does not rule out skipping the numerical number and directly naming it Xiaomi 17 Fold.
The most eye-catching highlight of the technical specifications lies in the major changes in the core chip. The code shows that the machine will use a self-developed processor called Xring O3. This is not Xiaomi’s first foray into the field of self-developed SoCs. The Xring O1, which was initially launched on the Xiaomi 15S Pro and Pad 7S Pro last year, has shown a good performance foundation.
