Samsung recently officially confirmed on its official website in the United States that the Galaxy Z TriFold, a triple-fold mobile phone priced at 89,900 yuan, is completely sold out. Its life cycle is only about 4 months, and it is still undecided whether the next-generation model will be launched.
Currently, the Galaxy Z TriFold is no longer available for purchase on Samsung’s official website in Taiwan. The webpage shows “sold out.” In the United States, it is clearly stated that the Galaxy Z TriFold is “limited sale.” It is now completely sold out. Consumers are recommended to buy the Galaxy Z Fold7 or Galaxy S26 Ultra instead.
Galaxy Z TriFold is Samsung’s first tri-fold mobile phone. When unfolded, it can have a 10-inch screen like a tablet. The design is unique but also very expensive. Korean media “The Bell” once revealed that Galaxy Z TriFold is almost “a loss on each sale”. It is mainly just as a display of technical capabilities, and there was no intention to mass-produce it from the beginning.
Won-Joon Choi, chief operating officer of Samsung’s mobile communications division, once revealed to foreign media that the Galaxy Z TriFold is extremely difficult to engineer and has a large number of customized parts. Under the dual pressure of high price and niche demand, the future of the product is full of uncertainty, and there is still no guarantee that there will be a next-generation product.

Although the tri-fold phone has not achieved commercial success, Samsung is still committed to the development of the Galaxy Z series of folding phones. According to the program code, as many as 4 models will be launched this year. In addition to the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 that are released every year, there will also be a Galaxy Z Fold model with a wide screen design, and the affordable Galaxy Z Fold 8 FE.
