Although the global market share of Sony Xperia mobile phones has declined year by year, Sony has repeatedly emphasized that it “will not give up the mobile phone business”, and the layout of new phones in 2026 is now becoming increasingly clear.
As early as last month, three unreleased Sony mobile phone models appeared in the eSIM mobile phone support database of telecom operators, namely PM-1521-BV, PM-1522-BV and PM-1523-BV, which are estimated to be the next-generation flagship Xperia 1 VIII.
Recently, six new Sony mobile phone models have been discovered again, including PM-1530-BV, PM-1531-BV, PM-1532-BV, PM-1533-BV, PM-1534-BV and PM-1535-BV. These are believed to correspond to the mid-range Xperia 10 VIII. The reason why these two mobile phones have multiple models in the database is presumably due to the different versions required by telecommunications in various countries.
This means that Sony Xperia mobile phones will continue to update the existing product line next year and launch at least two new phones: the flagship Xperia 1 VIII and the mid-range Xperia 10 VIII. Among them, Xperia 1 VIII has been confirmed to use Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, and Sony’s name has been included in the list of partners recently disclosed by Qualcomm.
It is worth mentioning that Sony Xperia has recently canceled its official service account on China’s WeChat and deleted mobile phone categories from its official Chinese website, which has attracted attention from the outside world as to whether this is a move to withdraw from the Chinese market. However, so far, Sony has not made any response to this.
