OMG…. I remember like 15 years ago, the OS had nice rounded & textured buttons and icons… then apple switched to very flat looking controls… and NOW they want us to get excited about making things look 3D again. I knew this day would come. I wish they'd bring back legit text boxes. On so many forms, the area to enter text is not highlighted (or boxed, or underlined) or anything showing me where to actually enter text. I wish controls were actual outlined buttons rather than just text or an icon out in the open. So many things are buttons that I don't know are buttons. (I'm old)
So basiclly all of the UI consistency that should have already existing in MacOS 26…
Ooh I like the new window buttons.

Another change, you can now listen to youtube videos on full volume while on facetime.
MacOS has still wake/sleep issues. Specially when you work with an external display. Sometimes the screen does not turn on. I sent several feedbacks but no improvement…

Looks interesting. Will be interesting to see how final release is. I have a concern with my 16 Pro running 26.6.1. Battery health shows 100% with 246 cycles. Wonder how accurate that actually is. Definitely not complaining.

I have the wallpaper bug on my Mac lol on boot I guess it’s flickering cuz of hdr, I think my monitor just sucks, but Mac’s hdr setup makes NO sense

The new button design is the reason I will install the update, no way they did that. Hopefully they won't remove it in the RC1 release by september.
I cannot believe that a new icon or desktop wallpaper is now considered a feature in a new operating system, when Apple released macOS Yosemite I was like so what is new exactly? By new UI or functionality I would expect:
New stacks feature where you can add files or folders and expand pan out in their own space on the desktop
Far better handling of fullscreen windows and menu hiding or showing
A dedicated minimised windows thing like stage manager but better
iPhone style vertical apps like a messenger that sits alongside your browser window
3 dimensional picture in picture that automatically adapts as you move windows around

Text replacements isn’t working on a few text boxes, such as WhatsApp native app for MacOS – it works in search box inside WhatsApp app but doesn’t work in chat box inside a particular chat on WhatsApp app in macos

I have an M3 Air and I’ve been on the beta since beta 3. I have an issue where when docked and I wake my screen, the login box is gone. I just see my wallpaper and time and can’t log in with password or fingerprint. Usually I can close the lid, open the lid and use my fingerprint to unlock, even though the login box still isn’t shown. Rarely that process won’t work and I’ll be forced to hold the power button to reboot. I reported feedback.
The other issue I have is I’m getting the beta updates very delayed. Beta 5 didn’t show up until the weekend for me last time. It’s currently not offering beta 6 now. It just says I’m up to date.
So many useless features. Just make your overpriced products last longer and work better.

finally the hyper annoying extra line in the upper toolbars is gone. It blocked the latest email you got, some websites on safari, it was also on preview. That's the most satisfying bug fix of this update.

I decided to be brave and install the Golden Gate beta on my personal MacBook a few weeks ago. I like it. Even in beta, it feels like the macOS that Tahoe should have been. Tahoe felt like the beta!
I wish they would give us these beautiful wallpapers on iOS as well
They fixed issues with the Touch Bar on my M1 13” MacBook Pro. In Beta 5, you could tap and click on the Touch Bar but swiping was totally broken. With Beta 6 it’s all fixed.

Since getting my MacBook Neo, I proudly watch these videos in addition to iOS, of course.
How about doing a technical review next. What apps are going to break, things that affect my pocketbook. Will it still run without icloud and siri? Will Lulu, Audacity, and Loopback still work? Does this OS tame the magic mouse so it works on google maps? Is my printer/scanner still work? Glass and iconography are low on my list of things I care about.

What app are you using to show your bandwidth usage on the menu bar?
There is currently an issue with handoff or specifically the clipboard between iphone to mac copy and paste sometimes but mainly happens when running on VPN . It also doesn't work after turning of the vpn. Once it doesn't handoff it either requires a reset of my iphone or to turn off both bluetooth on my mac and iphone to work again. The odd part is that it works from Mac to iphone flawlessly but not the other way around is the only time it has issues. This wasn't a problem before the beta and this is a new issue that only started to occure once I downloaded the Mac OS 27 beta
