They are both smooth, but the better android experience to compare is with ColorOS. Its smooth like IOS, and sometimes even better.
2 of the best phones on the market not competing but doing there job both in a different way, there is no such thing as techwars that's between you're ears it's a personal preference nothing less nothing more. If you like a top notch android phone buy a Samsung S-series and if you like another experience buy an Iphone, because both will give you the best experience that money can buy.
As a Samsung user, Apple clearly has the better animations and the design gives you a feeling of depth. OneUI kind of looks oudated in many areas, and aimations can appear stiff or unrefined. Some are straight up missing, like the unlock animation which is just a one frame transition with a cheap looking power point effect for the icons, and there are almost no micro animations.
Samsung doesnt have to copy iOS 27, but they have to "copy" the good things about it, to make OneUI look prettier, appear faster, and animate more beautifully. They gotta pay more attention to detail, to make a samsung phone satisfying to use

People glazing iphone over bouncy animations, still not fixing the fact that the os sucks on a daily basis. Keyboard is from 2012, not control over anything, battery health sucks, no files control, every animations is a waste of time.
I've never owned an iPhone, but when I use my friend's, the smoothness and haptics are on another level. OneUI 8.5 is still way behind in animation and smoothness, and I really like iOS's 3D wallpaper.
Animations in ios better than samsung ofc. But practically samsung is more usefull and enjoable and ios more boring but more stable.
ios is alive, oneui is trying to feel alive animation wise.
