Additionally For anyone wondering. What used to happen in aldente and likely this update is that the battery may charge up to 100 occasionally even if set to 80% if the battery needs to calibrate so it can understand it''s full capacity.
I’ve used my MacBook Air M2 2022 with battery controller Aldente to limit charge to 80% since first week of use in August 2022.
Result: 259 cycles, 87% capacity.
More degradation than I expected.
What I was a bit surprised is it charge the battery really fast when not needed at all. I have it connected to external screen and setup most of the time and the screen gives 70W of power. Charge speed might be the reason of degradation?
About heat: it’s not the climate, it’s the heat the computer itself produces that is impacting battery temperature the most.
Charge speed should maybe be more controlled by battery temperature?
It's not working. I set it to 80% and it says it will charge up to 80% when charging, but it will go up to 100%… Even if I check the battery status graph shows 100%. I had the Aldente app before and it was working flawlessly.
I updated my Mac to the latest version which allow us to put charging limit but still is surpass the limit, any solution ??
so why they gave us the option of charging limit if they want to continue the charging
