   I also have an M1 macbook pro. I also have the issue of blinking power cable. I have never spilled anything on my mac. Sometimes the magsafe charger works and then, after X days, it stops working again. I have experimented with different cables + charging blocks – neither of these is at fault. Here's a tip: Even when the magsafe cable is failing, I can plug a USB-C to USB-C cable into the same charging block and charge my mac via the USB-C port. This always works. So it's clearly an issue with the magsafe port itself. This is still frustrating/infuriating: I need that USB-C port and now it's occupied.

   Fully discharged laptop batteries can take convincing (i.e. connect, disconnect, connect, disconnect etc.) before they'll charge normally. Plugging in can get a bit of power into the battery and get it start working. There's a lot of tech in the battery, they don't like being completely dead.

   Thanks Neil, I was using long extended cable with charger and was struggling for 2-3 weeks. After your video , I replaced long cord with that small connector and Voila it worked!!

    Charging the MacBook with different USB-C cable for sometime and then back to magsafe worked

    Thanks Neil for the update here. However in my case, I didn’t need to buy a charger but just used an ipad charging cable to charge the mbp off the magsafe charger till it got to 5%. I did also observe that the cable did not show any signs of heating as the charger was pumping out a lower wattage. Once done, I changed the cable to that of the mbp and got a solid red charging.

    i spilt water on mine and had a flashing orange light on the charge immediately after unplugging it. I dried it out using both my shirt (cloth) and a tissue. I did the same on the actual Mac. Charger booted up fine after.

    This really fixed my mac. I used my iphone charger , the orange light turned from blinking orange to persistent orange and then after 5 mins, I used my mac charger and it turned on. Loved your solution and thanks for making video on this.

    Mine solution was the "brush the dust off the connectors etc" and it worked right away kicked on immediately.

    I came across this problem while my laptop still had some battery. I tend to never shut down my laptop for context, after checking to make sure everything worked fine I decided to shut down my laptop and it worked soon after.

    Ya’ll I reset my macbook air and it worked 😭🙏🏽- THANK the Lord 🙌🏽- cause I was finna start tweaking— all ik is that i woke up and indiaxtor was red and my ipad that i had charged to my MacBook was on like 3 percent- so i looked at the macbook and unplugged the charger at multiple outlets and and it was just dead…. So I tried a usb-c NOTHING WAS WORKING- which ik was impossible…. So ig a rest worker cause it was just overwhelmed smh!😅

    I’m having a similar issue with slightly different if anyone in the comments can help.

    I opened my laptop. It was dead, the orange flashing light, which has never happened. Also odd bc I was just using it the night prior. And I did leave it plugged in for a couple hours when I came back to return to it it was green And then it turned back on, but wanted me to reboot the system or restart my hard disk so I did and then it was like everything was normal.

    So then I did what I needed to do. I closed my laptop, not plugged in. And when I opened it back up later that day it was doing the same thing. But then randomly turned on and still required me to restart the hard disk. And shut my laptop again and then now the same thing today but I can’t get it to turn on. I have tried switching the cords and we will see if that

    And I’m going to give it time. However, when I was able to turn it on before I looked at the battery history and it would show that it was at like 90% for hours and then all of a sudden no battery at all… I haven’t done anything different than I’ve done before and this is only happened for the last couple days, but I’ve had this MacBook for three years.

    2020 or 21 I can’t remember , 16 inch M1 chip

    WTF I've been racking my brain for 2 days trying to charge my MacBook to no avail. It's an Air M2 and, like you a few months ago, a can of Monster spilled on it. MagSafe has been flashing orange for 2 days now, and I'm trying with another new charger.
    I watch your video and lose hope at the end when you say that the only solution is to change the charger (which didn't work for me) and then I plug it in again with my classic charger and it works!

    Tu cable con el cuadro de tu celular , te marcará que carga , cambia a tu cuadro original y listo. Empezará a cargar normalmente
