   The question you have to ask yourself is: Do I really need to spend $2000 for 4 extra years of support? The answer is no. Wait until something truly revolutionary shows up in the MacBook lineup, In the meantime, spend $900 and get an M6 Mac mini if you're truly worried about performance and service time.

   Yup, I got that update that killed my 2015 MBP 13 inch, if apple didn't brick it, I would STILL be running it….oh wait…I installed linux Ubuntu on it, and it's working just fine…so I guess I am STILL running it! Hahaha

    14 inches is too small and inconvenient to work in a split screen. I don't fly on planes, unless once a year and without a computer

    😁if you don't mind, can I buy that M1 Max from you? But all I have is like 90k indian ruppees ($920 approx). And my laptop is too much slow, AE isn't working properly 😭. Specs are like i7 11th gen (H series), 16GB Ram & RTX3050 4GB. Hopefully you'll see this😁.

    Yes, for the most part it can replace it, but at what cost? I just got a 16 inch M1 Max (32 gpu cores) with 64GB RAM and 2TB SSD for 1000 Euro. The base M5 Macbook Pro spec is already more than double of that and with only 16GB of RAM it can't even fit the local AI models that I can run on the M1 Max.
    So depending the use case, the M5 can be a nice replacement, but most users would not notice the difference between M5 and M1 Max in everyday use. I don't notice it between my M4 Pro and M1 Max.

    I'm writing this message from my M1 Pro MacBook Pro and I've never needed more than just ram and more display. Thinking to get the 16" M1 Max with 64GB ram.
    I've got my girlfriend an iPad Air M1, and by the time I had the iPad Pro M1, I hated it cause there was no desktop support for any video editing apps. Now pretty much every video editing app has almost full desktop support.

    So what I was planning on doing is sell my 14", get the 16" for when space allws, otherwise just get a M5 11/13" iPad Pro for on the go and camera bag.

    Im still using my M1 max 64gb 4tb until now am still very happy I am still waiting for the more efficient workflow to move into fully AI by then I will upgrade to fully max out specs to use it for another 5yrs. (Running Parallels with Revit) and Cinema 4d Corona Render on mac native os.
