* *M1 (2020):* Introduced the System-on-a-Chip architecture on a 5nm process (0:10). It revolutionized power efficiency for MacBooks, proving that unified memory and custom silicon could outperform existing Intel chips (0:27–0:53).

I currently own two MacBook Pro M4 Pro's… They're both 14 inch and 16 inch. I think Apple kind of peaked here if not at the M3 series! I love my MacBook Pros and I wouldn't trade them for anything else!! If basic workloads for average consumers are already covered and all we are developing towards is agentic tools and machine learning, there really is no need to go beyond this and M5.
And judging from the new leaks for M6/M7, I don't find the changes significant enough for me to make the transition, despite the OLED screen, touch, and Dynamic Island. I feel the Mac is at a really good spot right now and some optimization to MacOS like we have seen in Golden Gate is the right direction !!

Sometimes it goes a bit off then what it should have felt like. Didn’t the m5 chip release last year? If so why was the m2 pro 1 year late?
Currently using an M3 MacBook Air; and despite how warm it gets it is very powerful for all my motion graphics needs. 🙂
