iFixit has released a disassembly video of the new MacBook Air, reporting the differences from the M2-equipped MacBook Air in battery capacity and logic board component placement.
iFixit rates the new MacBook Air’s ease of repair with a score of 5 out of 10.

The main features of the new MacBook Air reported in iFixit’s teardown video are as follows.
Inside of 13-inch and 15-inch models
The 15-inch model has an internal structure that is an enlarged version of the 13-inch model, but the color and shape of the speaker shown on the right edge of the image below are different.
The 13-inch model’s speaker is silver, the 15-inch model’s speaker is black, and the shape is L-shaped, wrapping around to the sides.
Battery capacity of 13-inch MacBook Air with M3
The 13-inch model is equipped with a 52.6Wh battery, the same capacity as the M2-equipped MacBook Air.
Battery capacity of 15-inch MacBook Air with M3
The battery capacity of the 15-inch model is 66.5Wh, which is about 26% more than the 13-inch model.
trackpad
The trackpad board is smaller than the trackpad operation surface.
logic board
The logic board at the top of the image below has M3 installed on the left side of the center. The silver parts mounted horizontally and vertically on the left side of the M3 are NAND flash storage chips, which are used as SSDs.
As previously reported, the 256GB model consists of two 128GB NAND flash storage chips.
What is the repairability score?
iFixit rated the new MacBook Air 5 stars for ease of repair. However, if something goes wrong, it’s best to take it to an Apple Store or an authorized service provider for repair.
