We have estimated the popular models of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which started accepting reservations from 9:00 pm on September 12, 2026, based on the trends in the expected delivery date.
The first product that was no longer available for delivery on the release date was the iPhone 18 Pro Max black, 256GB model.

For the iPhone18 Pro and iPhone18 Pro Max, we have confirmed the expected delivery date for each model up to 10:00 p.m., one hour after the start of pre-orders.
iPhone18 Pro
As of 10 p.m., an hour after pre-orders started, it was still announced that all body colors and storage capacities would be delivered on September 18, the release date.
There were no models of the iPhone 18 Pro that had long delivery times immediately after pre-orders began, and even after one hour of release, there was still a relatively large amount of time available for delivery on the release date.
As of 11:20 p.m., the expected delivery date has been extended to “September 26th to September 30th” for the three models: 512GB silver, 512GB black, and 2TB.
iPhone18 Pro Max
After pre-orders started, the black 256GB and 512GB were the first to run out of delivery on the release date, followed by the silver 256GB.
After that, the release date delivery for the black 1TB and 2TB was no longer available, and the delivery date for the silver 1TB and 2TB was similarly extended.
Gradually, the 256GB and 512GB versions of Burgundy and Glacier are no longer available for delivery on the release date.
The same trend continued, and by around 9:40 p.m., the estimated delivery date for some models had been extended to “October 9th to October 17th.”
As of 10 p.m., only the burgundy 2TB is announced as “September 26th to September 30th,” and all others are announced as “October 9th to October 17th.”
At around 10:15 p.m., the estimated delivery date for all models, including the burgundy 2TB, changed to “October 9th to October 17th,” and the same is true as of 11:20 p.m.
Estimate popular models and order status
It is unclear how much initial stock Apple had for each model, but assuming that it had secured a large amount of 256GB and 512GB as usual, and that the differences between body colors were small, we can infer the following order trends.
- Black is the most popular body color, followed by silver, glacier, and possibly burgundy.
- In terms of storage capacity, the difference in delivery time between 256GB and 512GB is small, and orders for 512GB may also be strong.
- Even though 2TB is expensive at 449,800 yen including tax, the black version ran out of shipping on the release date at an early stage.
- While Pro Max’s delivery schedule was similar to previous years, all Pro models were delivered on the release date even after 1 hour from the start of pre-orders.
Did you choose 512GB for long-term use?
Looking at the current situation, although the selling price has increased considerably, it is possible that more users have chosen 512GB instead of 256GB with the intention of using it for a long time.
In addition to the higher resolution of photos and videos, the increase in the amount of data stored on devices may be one of the reasons why orders for the 512GB model are strong.
Is popularity concentrated on the revived black color?
Regarding the body color, the return of black, which was not included in the iPhone 17 Pro series, is thought to have contributed to the popularity of black.
It is possible that the main color burgundy had a large initial stock, but it is noteworthy that black was the first to lose its release date.
Is iPhone18 Pro in stock?
The new iPhones announced this time do not have a base model like last year’s iPhone 17, and the iPhone 18 Pro series is the main straight iPhone.
Therefore, it is possible that Apple had a larger initial stock of iPhone 18 Pro than usual.
