IT House reported on September 11 that Joanna Stern posted a video on her personal YouTube channel yesterday (September 10), comparing the crease performance of Apple’s first foldable iPhone Duo and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8.

In the 18-second comparison video excerpted from Stern, the two phones open the same New Things page after adjusting to maximum brightness and move it at multiple angles.
When facing the lens, the central crease of the iPhone Duo is difficult to identify and is relatively shallow. The Galaxy Z Fold8 is also nearly seamless, but narrow reflective lines will appear at some angles. When the two devices are tilted toward the light source, you can see the crease in the center of the screen.

In terms of screen solutions, Apple said that the 7.6-inch internal screen of iPhone Duo uses nano-texture surface treatment. This treatment is used to reduce glare and reflections and reduce the visibility of creases.
In contrast, Samsung’s Flex Titanium solution consists of a titanium alloy film and a titanium plate under the folding screen. Samsung claims this structure provides support for the screen and reduces the visibility of the crease. Galaxy Z Fold8 also uses an anti-reflective main screen to reduce the interference of reflections on the visual effect of the crease.
