On September 10, 2026, Apple announced the first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo. The selling price of “iPhone Duo” is 364,800 yen (tax included) to 574,800 yen (tax included). Pre-orders will begin from 9pm on October 16th, and will be released on October 23rd.
Features and main specifications of iPhone Duo
The iPhone Duo’s main display FaceTime camera is placed at the bottom of the screen, and the secondary display’s center-frame front camera is mounted in a punch-hole design at the top right.
The main display of iPhone Duo is 7.6 inches, the secondary display is 5.4 inches, and the main display will be compatible with Apple Pencil (USB-C) in the second half of 2026.
iPhone Duo uses an internal titanium or carbon plate with a nano-textured display to reduce the appearance of creases.
The biometric authentication for iPhone Duo is the side button with built-in Touch ID. Waterproof performance corresponds to IP68.
iPhone Duo’s hinge features a magnetic array that opens and closes without wobbling.
The iPhone Duo is an eSIM-only lineup, and the cellular modem is equipped with the new C2.
iPhone Duo is equipped with two batteries, providing 31 hours of video playback time on the main display and 44 hours of video playback time on the secondary display.
The main camera of iPhone Duo is a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and although it is equipped with an LED flash, it does not have a LiDAR scanner.
App display on iPhone Duo
The design of iOS27 has been adjusted to match the distinctive aspect ratio of iPhone Duo.
Apps displayed on the sub display will be enlarged and displayed smoothly on the main display after being expanded.
Split View, which splits the screen into two, is available on iPhone Duo.
In addition, the iPhone Duo’s built-in sensor is used to display the display according to the unfolded state.

The iPhone Duo lineup comes in two body colors: Star White and Night Sky, and four storage capacities: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB.
