After months of speculation, Apple has finally unveiled its first foldable iPhone, officially called the iPhone Duo, which comes packed with clever software features, a massive battery, and sells for $1,999.

When fully unfolded, the device reveals a 7.6-inch screen, making it the largest display on an iPhone to date. In addition, it also uses a special nano-texture surface treatment, which can effectively reduce glare and optimize the viewing experience. After folding, the device uses a 5.4-inch outer screen, which maintains 90% of the effective screen area of the iPhone 18 Pro while achieving a compact and easy-to-carry design. To ensure smooth transitions between folded and unfolded states, both screens have the same aspect ratio. This layout allows content to be scaled across both screens, maintaining complete visual coherence during use.

iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable device, using a book-style folding design. Unfolded it’s the thinnest iPhone yet. The structural integrity of this slim body is thanks to an innovative, precision-engineered 3D-printed hinge with a contrasting micro-sandblasted surface for a smooth, tactile and satisfying folding experience. The hinge itself is carefully crafted from more than 100 different parts. The fuselage shell is made of high-strength grade 5 titanium and has been mirror-polished. It is available in two exquisite colors: star white and night sky blue. In addition, the Touch ID fingerprint recognition function is also integrated into the side button.
iPhone Duo is equipped withApple’s new generation A20 Pro processor. In order to cope with the powerful computing demands brought by the dual-screen design, the device is equipped with an advanced heat dissipation management system. The system uses a custom-designed vapor chamber and works in conjunction with the A20 Pro processor to provide sustained and stable high performance.

Artificial intelligence and software capabilities
The device will run iOS 27, which has been completely redesigned to accommodate folding screen designs. The software retains the intuitive and familiar interface of iOS while dynamically responding to the flexible ways users unfold, hold and use iPhone Duo. In addition, iOS 27 makes full use of Apple’s latest AI technology, fully integrating Apple Intelligence and Siri AI into the device.
