It has been predicted that the iPhone 18 Pro series will come in four colors: “Silver”, “Dark Cherry”, “Sky Blue”, and “Dark Grey”.
However, new information posted on the Chinese SNS “Weibo” indicates that the silver version will not be included in the lineup. If this prediction is correct, the iPhone 18 Pro series will be available in three colors, all of which are colors that were not present in the iPhone 17 Pro series.
No silver in iPhone18 Pro series?
Attached to the post by Mr. Kazuo Teiko is a four-color image of the iPhone 18 Pro series. Regarding that image, he points out that “the second color from the left probably won’t be available in the lineup.”
The second color from the left is said to be silver, so if this information is correct, the standard color silver will disappear in the iPhone 18 Pro series.
Will there be 3 main body colors?
If silver is not adopted, it is thought that the main body color will be dark cherry, sky blue, and dark gray. If it is available in 3 colors, it is the same number of body colors as the iPhone 17 Pro series.
By switching to new colors without increasing the number of colors, you can create a fresh look while reducing the complexity of manufacturing and inventory management.
Is sky blue the successor to silver?
Some say that the reason why silver is not available in the iPhone 18 Pro series is because it is similar in color to sky blue. The iPhone Air’s sky blue color is very pale, and depending on the lighting and viewing angle, it may look almost silver.
If the sky blue of the iPhone 18 Pro series is similarly pale in tone, the difference in appearance may be smaller if it is lined up at the same time as silver. Therefore, it is possible to position sky blue as a substantial successor color to silver.
In the images posted so far and in the mock-ups created by case manufacturers, the sky blue color was depicted relatively vividly. However, the actual iPhone 18 Pro may have a lighter color than those, giving it a calm finish close to silver.
