Since June 20, 2025, Apple products have been given EU energy labels in European Union members. By looking at this label, you can view more detailed information about Apple products that are not listed on Japanese or US sites. In this article, we will explore the evolutionary points of the iPhone 17 series using the EU energy label as a guide.
What is the EU Energy Label?
Within the EU, energy labeling has been mandated to display smartphones and tablets from June 20th, and Apple has also complied with that requirement.
The EU Energy Label lists indicators such as energy efficiency, ease of repair, and durability, allowing you to view information that is not found on Japanese and US sites.
Check at the Ireland website
If you look at the official Apple website in Ireland, where English is the official language within the EU, you can see energy indicators that are certainly not found on sites in Japan or the US.
When comparing the labels of the iPhone 17 and iPhone 16, the energy efficiency of the iPhone 17 is “A” and has improved from the “B” of the iPhone 16.
Furthermore, the iPhone 17 has achieved a “B” level, which has been improved from the “C” level on the iPhone 16.
On the other hand, the ease of repairs is “C” just like the iPhone 16, and there is no change.
Software support period also stated
The EU Energy Label also states that software support will be provided for a minimum of five years. This is the same for the iPhone 17 series and iPhone 16 series.
