Apple’s first foldable phone iPhone Duo was officially unveiled. Japanese media pointed out the fatal shortcomings of the iPhone Duo. Major competing brands have kept the weight under 200 grams. However, the iPhone Duo weighs 254 grams, which makes it slightly bulky for long-term use. Japanese social platforms also expressed that it is “too heavy.”
According to Japan’s “Weekly ASCII”, the new iPhone Duo is equipped with a 48-megapixel wide-angle and 48MP ultra-wide-angle dual lenses, but does not have an independent telephoto lens. It supports direct writing with Apple Pencil, but it weighs up to 254 grams. A female media person held the iPhone Duo on site and said frankly that the weight makes it tiring to hold it for a long time.
Looking at iPhone Duo’s competitors, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 weighs only 201 grams, which is 53 grams different from iPhone Duo, which means it is about 26% lighter. This is a significant difference for long-term handholding. At the same time, Galaxy Z Fold8 also abandons an independent telephoto lens in order to achieve lightweight.
Huawei’s HUAWEI Pura Xiaomi’s Xiaomi 18 Fold weighs 219 grams, has a built-in 6000mAh large-capacity battery, and is equipped with a 200-megapixel main lens, a 50MP ultra-wide angle and a 50MP telephoto lens.
