Apple’s first foldable iPhone was officially unveiled, and it’s called “iPhone Duo”. However, this topical new phone will not go on sale simultaneously with the iPhone 18 Pro series. Instead, it will have to wait for one more month. It is expected to open for pre-order on October 16 and be officially launched on October 23.
The prices in Taiwan were also announced simultaneously. The iPhone Duo starts at 74,900 yuan, and the 2TB top version goes up to 118,900 yuan. The price is quite astonishing. In addition, iPhone Duo uses eSIM design worldwide and does not provide a physical SIM card slot.

Enhanced durability and reduced visibility of creases
iPhone Duo uses a grade 5 titanium body and is IP68 water and dust resistant. The bearing is composed of more than 100 components. It is not only responsible for opening and closing, but also supports the center of the screen to improve overall stability. The outer screen uses Super Ceramic Shield 2, which improves the scratch resistance by 3 times.
The inner screen has also been specially strengthened for durability and creases. Anti-scratch coating and nano-texture layer have been added to reduce glare, reflection and crease visibility. The structure is reinforced through high-strength glass, special adhesive and a bottom titanium plate to reduce deformation and loss caused by repeated folding over a long period of time.
In addition, iPhone Duo integrates Touch ID into the side buttons and also has camera control keys. Apple also announced that it will support the USB-C version of Apple Pencil later this year, which can take notes, draw or mark up documents directly on the screen.
Dual-screen gameplay is no stranger
At present, it seems that the usage logic of the dual-screen folding design of iPhone Duo is similar to that of mainstream folding phones on the market, both extending the use of photography, multi-tasking and daily use scenarios through the inner and outer screens. For example, the external screen can be used to preview selfies with the rear lens, and also allows the subject to check the composition simultaneously; the AI ”smart shooting” will automatically take pictures when it detects that the person is posing.
After unfolding the phone, you can open two apps side by side through “split display”, or open two windows of the same app at the same time. When the phone is stood up, it can directly enter standby mode even if it is not charging.
