Chain channel Landmark Netcom released statistics on more than 10,000 second-hand iPhone recycling transactions. This report uses the 256GB model as a benchmark to calculate the actual highest recycling transaction price of the iPhone 14 to iPhone 17 series from March to July this year, and adds the latest recycling market in August as a reference.
iPhone 17 Pro maintains its value well
Data shows that the second-hand price of the iPhone 17 Pro is particularly stable. From March to July, the highest recycling price of the 256GB version has remained at 29,500 yuan for five consecutive months. Based on the official selling price of 39,900 yuan, the residual value rate is about 74%. The overall price fluctuation is smaller than that of the iPhone 17 Pro Max and the standard iPhone 17.
Landmark Netcom said that the current second-hand market for the iPhone 17 series is still stable, and even after the new model is released, the short-term decline may be smaller than the same period in previous years. The main reason is that the launch of the standard iPhone 18 this year has been delayed, and the replacement wave will not be as concentrated as in the past. In addition, the supply of the standard iPhone 17 is still tight at this stage, so the price still has some support.
iPhone 15 and 16 are available now
On the contrary, for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series, the current recycling price is at a relatively high point. If you already plan to replace your phone, it is recommended to buy it as soon as possible. Taking the iPhone 15 Pro Max as an example, the highest recycling price in the past six months has remained roughly between 18,000 and 18,500 yuan. However, as the new phone goes on sale in late September, the recycling price of the older generation models of the same level will also gradually decline, making it less cost-effective to sell it later.
The residual value of iPhone 14 has reached its lowest point
As for the iPhone 14 series, the residual value is close to the bottom. From March to August, the maximum recycling price of the standard iPhone 14 256GB is only 7,500 yuan. Landmark Netcom also reminds that after the mobile phone is more than 3 years old, it will usually enter the accelerated depreciation stage. If you sell it one month later, you may make another 500 to 1,000 yuan less.
