Google Fitbit Air launches a special edition of “Pokémon Sleep”, adding another co-branded peripheral for Pokémon fans, priced at US$129.99, approximately NT$4,100.
Pokémon fans have new peripherals to collect. Taking advantage of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary craze, Google’s screen-less smart bracelet Fitbit Air has launched a special edition of “Pokémon Sleep”. It uses a blue strap design called “Sleepy Blue” and is printed with a sleeping Pikachu pattern. It replaces the original minimalist wearable device with a more healing and eye-catching limited edition shape.
Fitbit Air is a screen-less bracelet launched by Google in May this year. In addition to the regular version, there was also a special version in collaboration with NBA star Stephen Curry. Now it has added a Pokémon Sleep version. In addition to its cute appearance, it also focuses on game linkage. After pairing, the sleep data recorded by the bracelet can be synchronized to the “Pokémon Sleep” game, making “playing Pokémon while sleeping” easier and more convenient. Regardless of the version, the core functions and design concepts of Fitbit Air are exactly the same. The whole machine weighs only 12 grams including the strap. The body eliminates the screen and buttons and records exercise and health data through a variety of sensors. It focuses on a low-presence and less-interruptive wearing experience.
The “Sleepy Blue” blue strap is printed with a sleeping Pikachu pattern, echoing the sleep theme of “Pokémon Sleep”. The nylon strap goes around the device and is directly glued to the Velcro felt to fix, making it more convenient to use.
The Fitbit Air Pokémon Sleep special edition is expected to be sold in the United States and other markets on September 15, priced at US$129.99 (approximately NT$4,100). The listing plan in Taiwan has not yet been decided.
