Huawei’s new flagship mobile phone HUAWEI Mate 90 series is about to debut, and market news indicates that the standard version will see performance improvements. Different from the Kirin 9020 processor used in the previous generation Mate 80 standard version, the new Mate 90 standard version is confirmed to be upgraded to a Kirin 9030 chip!
According to information revealed by digital bloggers, Huawei will continue to implement a performance grading strategy in the Mate 90 series. The standard version is equipped with a Kirin 9030 chip, while the high-end Pro series will be equipped with a new generation of Kirin processors based on the new “Tao’s Law” architecture. In terms of hardware specifications, Kirin 9030 adopts an eight-core architecture, consisting of one 2.70GHz large core, three 2.27GHz large cores, and four 1.7GHz small cores. As for the chip used in the Pro version, it has been upgraded to a nine-core design. A large core is added to the standard version. The operating clock of the ultra-large core is also increased to 2.75GHz, providing higher computing power.
In addition to processor upgrades, the HUAWEI Mate 90 Standard Edition will introduce 3D face recognition technology. Through algorithm improvements, the new phone can provide more accurate facial data verification, further improving the unlocking experience and security of the device.
The software system is another focus of this upgrade. The Mate 90 series will be the first to be pre-installed with the latest HarmonyOS 7 operating system. Thanks to the in-depth optimization of the underlying system, mobile phones can further unleash the potential of their hardware. HarmonyOS 7 introduces the Agent Framework 2.0, which has a success rate of more than 90% when handling complex tasks. At the same time, the built-in AI voice assistant function has become more comprehensive and natural, with the ability to accurately understand user intentions, independently plan trips, and collaborate with different agents to perform multiple tasks.
Although the HUAWEI Mate 90 Standard Edition has comprehensive improvements in both software and hardware, in terms of launch arrangements, the Standard Edition may be released later than the Pro version. This approach of launching the high-profit Pro model first and then releasing the standard version reflects the current new market strategy of smartphone brands. It is expected that Huawei will officially announce the specific layout of the Mate 90 series next month.
