Rumored to be released as soon as September, HUAWEI’s third new tri-fold screen Mate XT2 mobile phone (tentative name) has recently revealed more screen performance and configuration, including the use of double-layer OLED as the outer screen to ensure display quality while improving durability and anti-fall performance.
Digital blogger “Super Dimension World” revealed earlier that the HUAWEI Mate XT2 tri-fold screen may use a double-layer OLED panel as the outer screen material to enhance the device’s durability and resistance to falls, while maintaining color brightness and image quality experience.
It mentioned that the Mate XT2 chose a double-layer OLED instead of a flexible OLED panel. It is expected that the brand made the decision by comprehensively considering various factors such as protection of the main screen of the device, product longevity, display quality, and maintenance costs.
Digital blogger “Focus Digital” also mentioned that after replacing the U-shaped tri-fold structure, the Mate XT2’s body flatness has been improved by at least 30% compared to the previous Z-shaped folding structure, which is reflected in a smoother appearance and handheld feel.
Mobile Magazine’s short comment: If the news is true, the design of Mate XT2 will be better able to protect the tri-fold main screen. Compared with the rigid outer screen of the flexible OLED panel, it should also be able to maintain image quality while improving the drop resistance after folding.
