Originally, the high cost of RAM/NAND has put new mobile phone products under pressure to increase prices. Unfortunately, after MediaTek raised its chip quotation last month, it was reported earlier that Qualcomm has notified customers that it will increase product quotations starting in September. This means that mobile phone price increases may increase in the future, and late purchase may make it more expensive.
Domestic media reports indicate that Qualcomm has informed customers that due to component supply shortages and rising supply chain costs, it is no longer able to absorb the increased costs on its own and will raise chip product prices in September.

The flagship mobile phone, which will be released in September and uses a more advanced 2nm process chip, originally had high technology costs. Now it is in a complex market environment. The increase may exceed the market’s original expectations and reflect the price impact as quickly as possible.

Digital blogger “Focus Digital” also confirmed the relevant news on Weibo earlier. In June, he mentioned that the cost of chip production materials such as tungsten, antimony and other precious metals has increased sharply, so price increases for chip products are also expected.
Mobile Magazine’s short comment: Since RAM/NAND prices show no signs of falling in the foreseeable future, and after the two major mobile phone chip manufacturers have confirmed price increases at the same time, mobile phone prices will inevitably face pressure to increase prices.
