The Redmi Note 17 series will be released first in the domestic market this month, and the international version market is also beginning to surface. In line with the brand’s recent naming strategy, Redmi has decided to follow Xiaomi’s lead and skip the 16th generation, making the Note 17 the official successor to the Redmi Note 15. Although historical experience shows that international models often take several months to be released, and specifications are often different from the domestic version, recent certification documents have provided preliminary clues for the global launch plan of this new phone.
According to the latest certification information released by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), a Redmi device with model number 2607DRA18I and a Poco device with model number 2607DPC18I have officially passed certification. The market expects that these two devices are actually the same mobile phone, launched under different brand names in different regions around the world. This dual-brand development strategy is very common in the product layout of Redmi and Poco. The Redmi version is expected to be the much-anticipated international version of the Redmi Note 17, while the Poco version is said to be the Poco M8 Plus, the successor to the Poco M7 Plus launched in August last year.
As for hardware specifications, current market news indicates that the domestic version of Redmi Note 17 will be equipped with a 6.83-inch 1.5K resolution flat screen and equipped with a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor. In terms of shooting performance, it is expected to use a 50-megapixel main lens, and the body will have a built-in battery with a capacity of up to 9000mAh and support 67W wired fast charging. However, it is still unknown whether the international version of Redmi Note 17 and the twin model Poco M8 Plus will completely retain this set of hardware configurations. The final specifications of the two international versions of the mobile phones have yet to be further announced by the official.
