Specification details of APPLE’s next-generation flagship phones, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, have been exposed early. Recently, the supplier Tata was attacked by a network, and a large number of internal confidential documents and design drawings were leaked, revealing information on the network chip and lens hardware of the new machine in the coming year.
According to leaked documents, APPLE will adopt a dual modem supply strategy for the iPhone 18 Pro series. The version sold in the US market will continue to use Qualcomm chips. The main reason is that the 5G network of local telecommunications companies in the United States relies on the mmWave frequency band, and APPLE’s current self-developed Modem still does not fully support this technology. As for other regions outside the United States, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to use the self-developed C2 Modem.
Looking back at the current product line, iPhone 17e and iPhone Air have taken the lead in using their own modem, while the high-end iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro series continue to use Qualcomm. This specification adjustment of the iPhone 18 Pro series reflects that APPLE is gradually promoting its own communication chips to flagship models, further reducing its reliance on external suppliers.
The leaked configuration list also revealed changes in the hardware design of the domestic iPhone. iPhones currently sold in the mainland all use dual physical SIM card slot designs and have not provided eSIM support. The document points out that with the launch of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, APPLE plans to officially add the eSIM function to the domestic market. This will be a significant change in the communication specifications of the National Bank version of the iPhone.
There are also specific hardware upgrades in the shooting system. Internal documents confirm that the iPhone 18 Pro will be equipped with a new camera module, and its hardware identification code has been changed from 0x903 of the previous generation iPhone 17 Pro to 0x905. This means that the new generation flagship machine will be equipped with an exclusive customized Sony IMX905 sensor. This hardware data coincides with earlier market rumors and further confirms that the main lens of the iPhone 18 Pro series will incorporate variable aperture technology.
