Apple is expected to release a new generation of iPhone 18 Pro series in September this year. Previously, whistleblower Sonny Dickson released photos of the latest model, revealing in advance that it will be available in four color options: dark cherry, light blue, silver and black. Another well-known whistleblower, Fixed Focus Digital, said that the iPhone 18 Pro will use the current aluminum alloy body design of the iPhone 17 Pro, so it may face the same durability issues such as scratches and paint peeling.

According to foreign media “MacRumors”, the whistleblower Fixed Focus Digital revealed that the iPhone 18 Pro, which is expected to be released in September this year, will continue to use an anodized aluminum alloy body. Although this material can bring excellent heat dissipation performance, it also means that it may not be able to escape the durability test faced by previous generations of products.
The tipster pointed out that the current iPhone 17 Pro abandoned the titanium metal used for two consecutive years and switched to an aluminum alloy unibody design. As a result, complaints of damage to the casing have been reported since its launch. In particular, the raised edges around the lens are prone to chip-like peeling (surface damage) and scratches. Many bumps and bruises in the car or in daily use leave marks.
What is even more worrying is that the iPhone 18 Pro is rumored to be launched in four new colors, including dark cherry, light blue, black and silver. The main color “Dark Cherry” is a deep burgundy that tends to be calm. The whistleblower specifically warned that consumers who are not familiar with the controversy over the durability of the previous generation must be particularly careful about potential “paint peeling” and surface scratches when purchasing these new colors.
