The tipster “Digital Chat Station” revealed on Weibo that OPPO’s wide-folding screen will use the S8E Gen6 chip, with an approximately 7.6-inch main screen and a 5.5-inch secondary screen. The size is similar to the iPhone UItra, which is a wide-folding screen.
OPPO’s wide-folding screen product, which has been put into development, will have an upgraded version of the highly acclaimed invisible hinge technology first installed on the Find N6 on the main screen. The main screen will use a Samsung display panel and the external screen will use BOE products.
The tipster mentioned in another article that OPPO’s wide-folding screen will take the flagship route with a price of 10,000 yuan, with a simple DECO appearance, a 200MP main lens, a 6,000mAh battery that supports wireless charging, a side fingerprint scanner and a fully waterproof body.
In terms of release date, OPPO’s wide-folding screen is initially scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2027. Considering that the brand Find N6 will be released in the same period this year, the product may be released as a successor to the Find N series.
Mobile Magazine’s short comment: Unlike Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, OPPO, which also has a wide folding screen, seems to regard it as a flagship model. For example, the Find N7 (tentative name) is still retained, and the new wide folding screen product may be positioned higher than the latter.
