According to the latest news from the famous Weibo tipster “Digital Chat Station”, the annual flagship Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, which is expected to be launched this year, will introduce a new generation of LOFIC imaging technology and use it to build a more powerful 200-megapixel camera system to achieve new breakthroughs in dynamic range and low-light shooting.

According to the news, Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will be equipped with a new 2nm process chip to provide more powerful computing and photography capabilities. In terms of camera hardware, the machine is expected to use a 1/1.28-inch 200-megapixel main lens and incorporate a new generation of LOFIC (Lateral OverFlow Integration Capacitor) imaging technology. The principle of this technology is to help mobile phones effectively suppress overexposure or “dead white” in highlight areas when facing strong light sources by improving the ability of the photosensitive element to handle strong light. Through the optimization of a new generation of technology, the camera will have more stable performance in controlling highlights and improving the purity of dark areas, allowing the picture to present a more realistic contrast.
In addition to the technical innovation of the main lens, the telephoto capabilities of Xiaomi 18 Pro Max have also been significantly upgraded. According to the current specifications of the engineering machine, the periscope telephoto lens of the new machine will be upgraded to a 1/1.56-inch 200-megapixel sensor, supports 3x optical zoom, and has an F/2.4 aperture. This newly designed lens module not only supports long-distance close-ups, but is also compatible with high-quality telephoto macro shooting, greatly expanding the application scenarios of daily photography. However, since the data currently leaked are all in the testing stage of engineering machines, Xiaomi officials will still have the opportunity to make corresponding adjustments and optimizations to the lens components and aperture parameters based on the test results during final mass production.
