In the third quarter of last year, Qualcomm and MediaTek each released their new flagship 5G chips, the S8 Elite Gen5 and Dimensity 9500. The performance of their two products on Android flagships has been competing for more than half a year. However, Qualcomm seems to have gained an overwhelming advantage in the latest monthly rankings.
According to the performance ranking list of Android flagship phones for May 2026 recently announced by AnTuTu, Qualcomm S8 Elite Gen5 platform phones accounted for 9 out of 10 on the list, leaving only the Dimensity 9500 and iQOO 15T in ninth place.
The top spot on this monthly list was won by Redmagic, a regular winner. With its new Red Magic 11S Pro+ gaming phone, the top-end version of the 16+1TB model, it beat its opponents with an average score of 4,171,821.
Mobile Magazine’s short comment: Affected by the rising cost of DRAM, even at the flagship level, there are no models equipped with 24GB RAM on the current list. To maintain performance, they need to rely on other performance such as chip overclocking clock.
