With the Google I/O developer conference about to debut this week, Gemini is expected to be about to receive a new wave of upgrades. Prior to this, Google had quietly launched the latest update to a small number of users, further expanding the number of apps supported by Gemini, allowing users to order restaurants and buy fresh food through AI.
Foreign media “9to5google” reported that many netizens have recently received the latest version of Gemini and discovered that Google is planning to add serial support for third-party apps, allowing users to control some functions of the app through conversational commands.
The system shows that Gemini will join Canva, and you can ask AI to design wedding invitations, create pictures, modify graphics files, etc. directly on the Canva platform. The support list also includes the well-known American grocery shopping platform Instacart, which can put designated fresh ingredients and daily necessities into the shopping cart and locate nearby stores with stock. Even the reservation platform OpenTable will also join Gemini, and you can use text commands to find nearby restaurants that can be reserved, or change the reservation time and confirm seats.
In terms of model use, Google is expected to enter the “Thinking Level” (thinking level), which can set the thinking time of the AI model, divided into two options: Standard (Standard) and Extended (Extended), based on the difficulty of the problem to achieve a balance between correctness and waiting time.
