im looking at getting a macbook pro M4 the max chip, when you say extra fans, do u mean a usb external fan or a coolng pad. my pc laptop just cant deal anymore, constant windows issues. so im moving to a macbook pro. the `m4 , not sure if i want to wait, is the M5 out yet. anyway, how do you keep it cooler. can you adjust the fan speeds automatically, i dont care if its loud. i use headphones so . any sites or info you can offer so when i get my new macbook pro i can get all the stuff setup right to pllay wow for years to come.

I want to use this laptop 24/7 for everything — gaming, web browsing, music — and I play Warcraft about 12 hours a day (and it’s like that every 30 days of the month). 1080p quality is enough for me. My question is: will this laptop wear out quickly or not?
Because I’ve heard somewhere that Apple laptops almost never break and are really reliable.

Im worried about the temps. Do you think its a good idea to play WoW for extended periods of time on the M5 Base when it comes to the computers well being?

Hi, nice showcase on the M5! I am currently playing WoW on my M3 Max Macbook pro and it seems that your M5 is getting quite close to the performance of my machine which is a lot more expensive. Maybe something to point out here, when I upgraded to MacOS Tahoe, I noticed that the fans were kicking in a lot faster then it was on Sequoia. It also runs way more hot. So I downgraded back to Sequoia to have a more stable experience. This could potentially also fix the issue you were mentioning with regard to the heat🙂
Omg finally does a good video on the m5 and yes only at the 1080 and not 1440 but still great and even shows raiding who would have thought. Now im really curious what the m5 pro and max will look like on wow when they release. One last thing do t worry about using one button if people do t like it they can roll their own lock.
Impressive performance for the form factor, and with X86 JIT in between the game and hardware. We have had mac gamers in-guild with older M-chips that all ran well though I don't know their individual configs.

Have you tried Legion Remix? My fps on M5 pro drops to about single digits on fights with lots of particle effects like Xavius and Elisande, at graphic level 4 or so. Kinda disappointed with the machine tbh

1080 is actually very good for WoW
These seem really low settings, especially at 1080p. I get its not a higher-end M5 Pro/Max/Ultra chip but still. I would have hoped this would be the FPS at 4K at these settings.
so the newest cpu of 2025 is struggling with a game developed in 2004.. another prime example that shows WoW is one of the most unoptimized games in the world, the code is just so bad.
Please tell me raid fps in 2k resolution.
Windows is better
It's for sure a impressive cpu but WoW is just difficult to benchmark like this.
You don't use basic addons except details while most raid-players use a bossmod, plater, and some weak auras at the minimum.
Lfr has watered down/simpler mechanics compared to higher difficulties, but 25 people is a good middleground for the taxing 30 man zerg you sometimes get in normal/heroic or the 20 man mythic.
Few things. For WoW on Mac you need to have Vsync ON, Game mode OFF, you will get much better FPS. Also the visual setting: Shadow FAIR, everything else LOW, Outline HIGH, Texture HIGH. View distance 5, and then others are personal preferance. I play on Mac Mini M4 @4k resolution with Fidelity and get 60 FPS in raid locked.
