  1. I’m sorry did I hear you say that you can’t use your Apple Watch Ultra with your iPhone? tThat’s the purpose of having an iPhone and the Apple Watch they go together, I make phone calls from my watch,I answer text messages with my watch, check email, etc and can have a separate mobile line to talk from with my Apple Watch and with just gps version as long as you have your phone , you can take calls etc. I’m not sure if you have the right watch or if something’s off that doesn’t make sense. Maybe you miss quoted , or I miss understood. You could’ve also simply stated that you preference Garmin but don’t say you can’t utilize your Apple Watch with the iphone they go hand-and hand that’s the purpose of the ecosystem. I honestly find that people who don’t understand the ecosystem or don’t know how to operate their devices quickly downplay Apple .

  2. I’ve been a die hard Apple Watch user since the beginning in 2015. I tried the garmin when my wife got one a month ago and I’ve been totally converted. It’s just so much better for my needs. And only charging my watch once a week is heaven

  3. Hey- can you please share where you bought that watch band for the garmin FR265? I love it but can’t find it anywhere

  4. I see it’s been asked so I doubt you’re gonna answer, but which band do you have and which face is that? Just bought the forerunner 265 and new to the garmin space. Loving it so far!

  5. Just switched to the 265 from the Apple Watch. Tired of having a miniature phone on my wrist 😂. Looking forward to more in depth analytics with the Garmin!

  6. Hey Folk!
What about the Taptic Engine on the Garmin? I have the feeling in Garmin it is hard and noisy
Does Garmin provide alerts to low or high rate notifications when sleeping?

  7. Forerunner 265 not suitable for kayaking, road cycling, ….

I use the Forerunner for kayaking and road cycling. For both activities I have it attached to the equipment . (“Always On” and highest brightness during activities are switched on. External Garmin HR sensor is connected.)

Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 965 have the new AMOLED display. This is easy to read in direct sunlight at full brightness. However, after 15 seconds at the latest, the clock dims to a significantly lower brightness in order to save battery. Then it is no longer readable. From this dimmed state you can only “wake it up” by a quick turn of the wrist (gesture) or by pressing a button. Unfortunately, neither of these are possible during my activities.

The watch regulates its display brightness depending on the environment. On cloudy days, the display becomes significantly darker. Because I leave the sunglasses off, I can read it with a little effort. Still not usable during competition or for navigation.

The previous models (e.g. Forerunner 245) did not have this problem because of the different display technology.

Garmin Support can not provide a solution.

The problem could be solved with a software update in which either automatic dimming can be switched off or brightness in the dimmed state can be increased. It would then consume a little more battery during activities. I wrote to the developers but received no response.

The rest of the watch is fantastic!
