The Last of Us Part II Remastered

Setup: MacBook Pro M4 Pro 24GB 12cpu/16gpu, macOS 15.5, CrossOver Preview 20250625, GPTK3 Beta 3, D3DMetal, MSync.

Settings: 1080p resolution, High graphics preset, FSR 3.1 Quality Upscaling, Frame Generation off.

Result: Indoor and outdoor FPS fluctuates significantly. Performance ranges from 30 to 70 FPS without screen recording. At 1440p resolution with Medium graphics settings, performance ranges between 25 and 55 FPS.

Issue: The game’s memory usage is high, likely due to a memory leak. However, this issue does not render the game unplayable. On a 16GB Mac Mini M4, gameplay experienced stutters. More than 16GB of RAM is recommended.

Notes:

1. AVX/F16C: This game requires AVX and F16C support, so macOS 15.4 or later is required to run this game out of the box without a patched executable.

2. DLSS: I tested this game on a Mac Mini M4 with macOS 26 Beta 5 and CrossOver Preview. Performance with DLSS is lower than with FSR 3.1 for this game.

  1. How do you install mods for this game for CrossOver Mac Tahoe. I have downloaded a bunch of mods for TLOU2 but when I put them into the mods folder they do not work. They never show up in game. How do you get them to work. So far no YouTube channel has covered this topic.
