Picked up an 16 inch m5 pro max 18/40 with 48gb ram and 2TB ‘base’ model yesterday on release day. My other laptop was the 2021 14 inch MBP M1 Pro base model with 16gb ram and 512 storage….the max is a whole another world in comparison to my 2021 MBP. The amount of power is really just incredible
im still running the m1 macbook pro 2020 edition – the first m series they brought out. 5.5 years later it still runs buttery smooth in a dev workflow. Running multiple containers it does slow slightly but not enough to justify 4-5k on this machine. If you already have a M series mac you dont need this – Nice try apple!
6:32 roughly 30seconds for 1 image out of Flux1-Schnell model, possibly a quantized one. Finally, apple made something workable. SDXL-family should be in 10secs range then. Thanks for the info.
I wish the reviewer would actually use the device before “reviewing” all these amazing benefits of the new chips. The reviewer was NOT demonstrating on a M5 Max MacBook at all, how do I know….? M5 Max MacBook has changed the text on their US English keyboards to now use glyphs. So tab, caps lock, etc are no longer printed on the keyboard but instead shown with symbols 🤦♂️

Hm … as long as Apple doesn't support CUDA, the comparison between Apple and Windows machines makes little sense. Because what good is superior hardware, if your GPU intensive software doesn't support it. And yes, I have a Macbook Pro M1 Pro, looking forward to the upgrade to the M5 Pro, hopefully soon … but that doesn't mean I can compare my machine to a PC.
I would love to order M5 Max 128GB 4TB … or should I wait for M6 ?? ….money ? it's not a problem, I have 2 kidneys and 2 corneas (sarcasm) hahaha
