Samsung officially unveiled its new folding technology “Flex Titanium” and confirmed that it will be introduced into the “next-generation Galaxy folding device.” Although the official did not directly name the model, it is generally believed that it is the upcoming Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra. The biggest highlight of this new technology is that it is expected to make the screen creases that have existed for many years on folding mobile phones almost invisible.
Samsung creates near-crease-free folding technology
In fact, many sources have recently pointed out that the screen creases of the Z Fold 8 series will be greatly improved. Even in previously leaked actual videos, it can be seen that the inner screen creases have almost disappeared. Now that Samsung has officially unveiled Flex Titanium technology, it also confirms that the new generation of folding screens will move towards “nearly crease-free”.

Flex Titanium features a new double-layer titanium construction. Among them, a new layer of titanium alloy film is added under the OLED panel. The mechanical rigidity is 20 times higher than the plastic film used in the past, but the thickness is only about one-third of the diameter of a human hair.
Another key is to add a titanium metal support plate to the bottom of the display module and use it with new micro-hole processing technology to narrow the gap between the display module and the adhesive layer, so that the screen can obtain more even and stable support when unfolded, while maintaining the flexibility required for repeated folding, thus effectively reducing the visibility of creases.
In addition to improving the crease, Samsung also emphasized that Flex Titanium has high durability, but did not release specific data. The previous generation Z Fold 7 officially claimed that it can withstand 500,000 folds, so the final folding life of the Z Fold 8 series has yet to be officially announced by Samsung.
Official images of the entire series of new products leaked
Samsung has confirmed that it will hold its second Galaxy Unpacked conference this year on August 22, Taiwan time, to officially launch a new generation of foldable phones. According to current news, this year’s product lineup will be more complete than before, and is expected to bring the top-spec Z Fold 8 Ultra, the new wide version Z Fold8, and the small folding Z Flip8. Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 are expected to be unveiled simultaneously.
Before the official release, foreign media Android Headlines has preemptively exposed official promotional images of all suspected new products. From the body design, size to some new colors, almost all of them have been exposed. There is not much suspense about the appearance of the new products.
